We’re not relying on offsets or traded certificates to make a difference. 100% PPA backed renewable electricity means we’re directly supporting a community of renewable generators, and powering a sustainable future.
We use Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) to buy electricity from our community of generators. This increases the amount of sustainable energy that we source, and means we know exactly where our energy comes from. It also means we’re giving money back to the people powering our futures.
We can trace all the renewable electricity we use back to our UK-based community of renewable generators.
The independent generators we use are all over the UK, from Scotland to Cornwall. You can find out more about them here.
For £8 a month, you can add Greener Electricity to your plan.
Or you can upgrade for less with our 1 Year Fixed + Greener Electricity plan. You'll get fixed prices for 1 year, plus 12 months of Greener Electricity for the price of 10.
If you’re on our monthly upgrade, you can remove Greener Electricity from your plan at any time. To cancel it, log in to your online account and go to the “Your Profile” page where you can hit “cancel”. It’ll be removed from your account the following month.
If you have our 1 Year Fixed + Greener Electricity plan, the cost of Greener Electricity is built into your standing charge and can't be removed until the plan ends. You'll need to switch plans to cancel Greener Electricity, and exit fees might apply. Please see our terms for more details.
1 With Greener Electricity, you’ll receive 100% renewable electricity backed by Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) we have with UK-based generators. The electricity supplied to your home will still come from the National Grid and come from a mix of sources, but an amount of renewable electricity equal to the amount you’ve used will be added to the grid, directly from a UK-based renewable generator.
