Learn more about how to top-up through your In-Home-Display, apply emergency credit and manage alerts when your credit is running low.
From the home page press the Home button.
Scroll to Tariffs and press O.
Scroll to the desired setting (E.g. Gas) and press O. Your current Tariff and Daily Standing Charge will be displayed.
There are 4 ways in which you can top-up your meter:
Make payments by credit/debit card via your computer, tablet or smartphone.
Make payments by credit/ debit card via your computer, tablet or smartphone, Download the Top Up app (it’s available in the Apple App Store or Google Play).
Take your Smart Pay As You Go card and pay over the counter at your nearest PayPoint shop. Find your nearest PayPoint shop.
Take your Smart Pay As You Go card and top up over the counter of your nearest Post Office. Find your nearest Post Office.
From the home page press the Home button.
Scroll using the arrow buttons to Prepay and press O.
Scroll to Top-up and press O.
Enter the Top-Up Code using the Left and Right arrows and the O button to confirm. — The Top-Up code will be on the receipt/email/Text/App received when you purchased your gas or electricity.
Scroll to the Tick icon and press O.
From the home page press the Home button.
Scroll using the arrow buttons to Meter balance and press O.
Scroll to the desired option (e.g. Electricity) and press O.
Your remaining credit will be displayed.
If you use up all credit you will need to invoke Emergency Credit to keep on supply. You will need to top-up as soon as possible.
You can only activate your emergency credit when you are running low on credit. Your credit needs to be less than £2 to activate.
To activate Emergency Credit through your IHD:
From the home screen press the Home button.
Scroll to Prepay and press O.
Scroll to Activate emergency credit and press O.
Scroll to OK and press O.
Emergency Credit is now enabled and ready to activate when the current credit hits zero (£0.00). Your meter will continue to use your current credit until it runs out and then begin using the Emergency Credit.
If you do not top up before the emergency credit runs out you may find your supply cut off until more credit has been added.
You can set up alerts to let you know when you’re running low on credit, or if your daily usage is higher than usual. To set up alerts:
From the home page press O.
Scroll to Settings and press O.
Scroll to Sounds & Alerts and press O.
To turn alerts on, scroll to Alerts and press O.
To turn Message alerts on scroll to Message alerts and press O.
The Message alert is now turned on and will notify you if the alert is triggered.
From the home page press the Home button.
Scroll to Settings and press O.
Scroll to Sound & Alerts and press O.
To turn alerts off, scroll to Alerts and press O.
The alert has now been switched off. Now if an alert is triggered there will be no audible beep.
