Solar help

What happens during a remote solar survey?

You can book your free remote solar survey on our website.

You need to be at home for the survey, and you’ll need to use a phone that can take video calls. That’s because part of the survey is carried out via video call, so we can see your home. The call lasts around 45 minutes, and is made up of 2 parts:

1. The first part is a quick chat on the phone about solar, and what you want for your home. The surveyor will ask you a few questions, like how much electricity you use each year, and what your bills are like. This is also a chance to ask any questions you might have about solar installation.

2. The second part will be via video call. The surveyor will ask you to go outside and show them different parts of your home on your smartphone. This will include things like your roof, how you access your home, and the available space around your home. This is to see where we can put up scaffolding, fit equipment and run cables etc. The surveyor will also want to see your electricity meter location, and if you have an isolator switch. If you have an easily accessible loft, the surveyor will ask you to see that too.

Once the call is over, the surveyor will go and prepare your quote straight away. It can take up to 24 hours to get your quote, but 90% of customers get it within a few hours. The quote is valid for 30 days.

If you accept the quote, we’ll usually start installation within 4 to 6 weeks.
